Another Reason

Okay, so every day I post one reason I am quitting.

Day 1: Money.

$400 a month is spent on cigarettes. That's two car payments for me! That money is best spent in other ways than killing myself.

Money for Erica's savings account.
Car payment.
Erica's toys.
Gas money.
School.
Fixing up the house.

Any number of ways, and to think i'm always complaining about being broke! Then, I shell out $33 or more on cigarettes at any given time?!

So that it, day 1 reason to quit.

Why I started

I've decided to start this blog in order to track my smoking habits in order to help me quit. I doubt that i'll get many readers while I do this, frankly, blogging is something pretty foreign to me. I guess i'll start by introducing myself and explain why I decided to quit smoking.

My name is Elizabeth, i'm a 23 year old Army veteran, and a single mother to a beautiful 2 year old girl, Erica. I've been smoking around 7 years, I started at the age of 16, for those of you doing the math. I do enjoy smoking, which is why I think this is going to be so hard for me.

My main reasons for trying to quit is my daughter. She's a young, healthy, beautiful little girl, and I hate to see her following me outside, holding her candy cigarettes. I mean, I am her mother, I am suppose to be setting a good example for her, i'm suppose to be a positive role model for her, and how does that look to her? Mommy is killing herself by smoking.

Also, just for the record, I hate those stupid anti-smoking campains (truth). They make me want to smoke even more! In fact, a small part of me could invision smoking pack after pack and blowing the smoke into those hippies smug little faces. So no, those don't help at all.

Erm, anyways, i've set a date to quit smoking, Thursday the 27th. So I guess we'll see how that goes, huh? Words of encourgement could help right about now, also any ideas on how to liven up my blog a bit will be appreciated.
